Privacy Policy — URL Cleaner
Last updated: September 7, 2026
What this extension does
URL Cleaner removes known tracking parameters (such as
utm_source, fbclid, gclid, and
similar) from a URL, either a link you right-click or the page you're
currently viewing, and copies the cleaned version to your clipboard.
What data we collect
None. This extension does not collect, store,
transmit, sell, or share any data whatsoever. There is no analytics, no
tracking, no external server, and no account of any kind.
What the extension can access, and why
- The URL of a link you right-click, or the URL of your
current tab — this is the only piece of information the
extension ever touches. It is processed entirely on your device, in
memory, and is never stored, logged, or sent anywhere.
- The extension does not read the content of any page you visit —
only the URL string itself, and only at the moment you choose to use
the right-click menu or open the popup.
Permissions this extension requests, and why
- contextMenus — to add the "Copy cleaned link" and
"Copy cleaned page URL" right-click options
- activeTab — to read the current tab's URL only
when you open the popup (a deliberate, user-initiated action)
- scripting — to write the cleaned URL to your
clipboard, since browser extensions cannot access the clipboard
directly from a background script
This extension does not request access to any website's content, does
not run on every page you visit, and has no host_permissions
at all.
Third parties
This extension does not integrate with, or send data to, any
third-party service, analytics platform, or advertising network.
